I'm trying to hire a coach and someone offered a better contract to the coach I was trying to hire.
I want to offer a better contract, but when I do so I get this notification
"Offer Blocked. Your board insists that you should not offer more than $27.211 per round for this staff member."

I think the coach is worth a higher salary than that because he has two skills above 90, and is just 47 years old.
I couldn't find anything about this in the manual, so why am I getting blocked, what is the reasoning behind this?

It has nothing to do with the quality of the staff. The maximum amount allowed by the board for a staff is based on the available balance in your bank. So the more money you have, the higher you can bid. Just like bidding for a player.

You can always offer the minimum wages regardless of your bank balance though. If you want to bid higher, then the board intervenes.

Can it be seen somewhere what the maximum amount is you are allowed to offer?

This is not answer of your question but an advice. You see only 50 staff in main page. You will find another staff in your requirements, try to use attribute filter and click search.

Thank you but I already knew that. Unfortunately, there is currently only one coach available with the requirements that I selected :(

Its Considered this way:
1) You need to be able to afford to pay 6 staffs with 25% of your available balance (your next bid must be maintainable x6 staff's with 25% of your available money).
Eg 1 if avaliable money is {40m}.
{40m}x0.25/60/(6)=27,778
Or simply:-
2) Available balance/1440.
Eg 2:
40m/1440 = 27,778 max bid.

And if you are too lazy to do the math, just offer 999,999 per round for the staff. The board wont accept it for sure, and they will tell you exactly how much you can bid 😁
