I would like the system to use the best possible player to substitute during injuries.

My key Center Back was injured for a few rounds. I had 2 CBs in my bench and the system used the weaker Lateef Etheridge instead of the much stronger Stewart McAndrew

When I asked in the chat, it was suggested that the system might use the far-right player on the bench. So I changed their players (without altering the injured player) to see what would happen.

It didn't work. The system still used the weaker player.

They are correct.

My CB was injured and these matches were played AFTER that injury while he was still injured. I didn't remove him from the tactics to see what would happen.

In the 1st match link, Etheridge was in the 3rd spot in the subs. The system used him as starting 11 and put Salim in the subs instead.

In the 2nd match link, Etheridge was in the 2nd spot (next to the GK) in the subs. The system used him as the starting 11 and put Lowes in the subs instead.

Oh ok, you are talking about the sytem fixing lineups with invalid players. I have no idea about that coz I always change injured and suspended players myself.

What I told you in chat is what happens when players are injured during matches. When that happens, it looks for the best position in sub, and if there are more than one player who is suited to replace the injured player then the one rightmost on the bench is selected.
